Abu Dhabi: Egos get in the way of promoting pan-Arab entities that originate from within the region itself, according to an Arab entrepreneur.
“You cannot underestimate the problem of ego of some,” said Usama Fayyad of Oasis500. “Many of them want to establish their own entities and they wait for it but nothing happens. Arab Governments should have an open mind to accept initiatives and ideas from fellow-Arab countrymen.”
Even after his company proved successful, some people from the region did not feel supporting it. “The same people might have supported it if it was an initiative from the West,” he added.
