Cairo – The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the exploration of opportunities for blue ammonia production.
The MoU was signed by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM), and Japan's Toyota Tsusho, according to a statement on Tuesday.
Under the deal, a study will be conducted for six months to explore the economic feasibility and best opportunities available in the petroleum sector to implement projects to capture and store carbon dioxide for producing blue ammonia using the latest Japanese techniques.
