Dubai, Sept., 28, 2007 (WAM)--The Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charity Works Department will here today hold a religious celebration at the Rahidiya grand mosque, marking the anniversary of major Battle of Badr after traweeh prayers.

Al Sheikh Omer Al Khateeb, Director of the Guidance section at the department said, "The department since its inception has been holding religious anniversaries to remind Muslims about the great religious events in order to inspire and remind them about lessons that revive and sustain faith.

He added that "such occasions are educative for juniors as they get enlightened about those great days in the life of Ummah. It links them with the history of ancient ancestors who had preached Islam to the world".
