UAE - Mubasher: Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (DEWA) announced it is participating in GITEX Technology Week 2019 with 34 innovative projects and smart initiatives including 24 initiatives that are being demonstrated for the first time.

At GITEX, DEWA is displaying artificial intelligence (AI)-based projects, initiatives, and services with the aim to enhance the experience of customers, partners, and employees, according to a press release.

The authority is also presenting the Smart Response Service which offers users self-diagnosis of power and water interruptions through DEWA's smart app and website.

DEWA is also showing its upgraded website that has been designed to meet customer feedback to keep up with the leading global websites.

Moreover, its revamped smart app featuring services based on customer needs including DEWA store, through which users can enjoy exclusive offers and discounts in partnership with a number of public and private sector companies, is being showcased, DEWA added.

DEWA, the first government organisation in the UAE to have a verified WhatsApp Business account, is showcasing AI initiatives such as Rammas, its virtual assistant that is capable of responding in English and Arabic through several platforms and apps.

During the GITEX, the authority is presenting its industrial robot as well as its initiatives within the Dubai Future Accelerators programme.

Furthermore, ‘Maarefa’ smart platform that aims at bringing employees’ knowledge and expertise together is being displayed, in addition to ‘Afkari’ platform for employees to encourage creativity and innovation in the workplace, the authority highlighted.

DEWA is presenting ‘Ebtikari’ platform as well at the GITEX for global inventors and innovators to help them present their ideas in sustainable energy and water, and other related ideas.

It is worth noting that the GITEX is taking place from 6 to 10 October 2019 at the Dubai World Trade Center.
