Muscat - The Bayan electronic system for import, export and custom clearance is being launched at four more land, air and sea ports this month. According to Royal Oman Police represented by General Administration of customs, the new system will be expanded to Sur Port, Al Mazyoona land outlet, Sarfait land outlet and Salalah airport on March 15, 22, 27 and 30, respectively. "The Directorate General of Customs is committed to improving procedures and facilitating the safe and efficient movement of cargo in Oman and the Gulf region", said the communiqué.

Through the Bayan system, the government aims to reduce the administrative and logistical difficulties of the trade community. The implementation of the system in all land, air and sea customs ports is expected to be significant step in the process of trade exchange through the e-facilities and privileges including integrated customs management system and risk management system, as well as the e-one station system which helps fast completion of permits and licences as soon as possible.
