Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has joined hands with leading developer Eagle Hills Diyar for the launch of the fourth edition of the Sea Festival at Marassi Beach.
The event kicks off on Thursday (November 7) at Marassi Beach and will run for over a period of 10 days till November 16, said a statement from BTEA.
 
This year’s edition of the Sea Festival will include a live on-stage performance (Del Mare), as well as a number of attractions suitable for visitors of all ages such as water sports activities, boat rides, traditional music performances, handicrafts and pearl merchants, it stated.
 
There will also be plenty of entertainment during the Festival including a museum, outdoor cinema and an interactive play area for kids, said BTEA in its statement.
 
"We are proud to organize the fourth edition of the Sea Festival, one of the most-anticipated festivals held as part of the BTEA’s calendar of events, which work towards promoting the kingdom as a unique tourist destination as well as strengthening relations between the public and private sectors," remarked its CEO Nader Khalil Al Moayyed.
 
These annual events all aim to further develop the national economy and elevate the Kingdom’s position as a tourist attraction to support the Economic Vision 2030," he noted.
 
As part of this collaboration, Dr Maher Al Shaer, Managing Director of Eagle Hills Diyar, said: "We are honoured to host the fourth edition of the Sea Festival at Marassi Beach, an event that attracts visitors from Bahrain and neighboring countries and is an excellent education initiative of the kingdom’s rich sea history."
 
"We also look forward to increasing cooperation between Eagle Hills Diyar and BTEA in order to further enrich the tourism industry and support all government entities in strengthening the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position on the international tourism map," he noted.
 
Since the launch of Sea Festival, this annual event aims to celebrate the close ties throughout the ages between the people of Bahrain and the sea, by showcasing several sea related traditions and activities.
 
In addition, the festival aims to be a platform to generate awareness and educate visitors and tourists about the Kingdom’s rich history with the sea, stated Dr Al Shaer.
 
BTEA said the Sea Festival comes as part of its efforts to showcase the kingdom as the ideal tourism destination for families which offers a unique experience to visitors of all ages.
 
It is in line with the BTEA’s overall strategy aimed at developing and strengthening the tourism sector under the slogan ‘Ours. Yours’, which contributes towards the Kingdom’s economy and 2030 Economic Vision.
