Ajman, 23rd Nov. 2008 (WAM) --HH Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, signed today the world's longestmessage of gratitude and love for the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the UAE National Day.
Sheikh Humaid posted his signature on the letter during a meeting with participants of the UAE Federation Marathon. Sheikh Humaid expressed his warm congratulations to the President and other UAE leaders on the glorious occasion and lauded the staggering progress the UAE is witnessing in all walks of life under the stewardship of Sheikh Khalifaand Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum . ''The UAE Federation march has strengthened,over the past year,the unitybetween the people and the leadership and has delivered spectacular achievementsin development, catapulting the UAE to a prominent rank among the comity of nations,''Sheikh Humaid added. ''The achievements we are seeing today in cultural, economic, social, sports and health and other fields underline the determination of the prudent leadershipto secure all facilities of decent living for the UAE citizen so as to engage in the process of progress which was spearheaded by the founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,''he stressed. The Ruler was briefed by Ehsan Jadallah Nasr, Manager of Federation Marathon,on the event. He said it would provide an opportunity for all people in the UAE to express their love and affection for the country and its leadership''A group of 22 women cyclists representing member states of the Arab League are on a countrywide tour to collect signatures of both UAE nationals and expatriate residents on the letter which is a tribute to the achievements of the UAE federation and its contribution to various Arab causes,''he added. The cycle procession started off from Fujairah on November 16 and will cover all the emirates to arrive in Abu Dhabi by December 2, where they will deliver the message to the PresidentThe letter will be 400 metres long and contain greetings, messages and signatures of people across the UAE. Organisers hope to collect more than 1.5 million signaturesand register it at the Genius Book of World Records.
