Doha - A senior delegation representing Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) recently participated in the scientific program of the 18th annual forum of the Arab Hospitals Federation, MEDHEALTH. The delegation held a number of scientific lectures and interactive sessions, aimed at highlighting the latest health developments in the State of Qatar. 

The two-day forum also saw active participation from the delegation representing the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH). Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Director of the Public Health Department at the Ministry of Public Health, presented the Qatari experience in the field of health promotion and discussed the importance of health awareness in a lecture titled “Required Practices in the Field of Health Promotion and Primary Prevention.” The lecture was met with widespread acclaim from delegates.

The 18th annual forum of the Arab Hospitals Federation, MEDHEALTH, was held in the Egyptian capital of Cairo from 28 February to 1 March. The two-day forum, held in conjunction with the 47th meeting of the Executive Board of the Arab Health Ministers Council, was aimed at discussing recent healthcare developments in the Arab region.

Dr. Yousuf Al Maslamani, Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital (HGH), delivered a lecture on the second day of the forum on the best ways to compensate healthcare providers, i.e. hospitals and clinical centers, for the excellent, high-quality services they provide to patients. Dr. Al Maslamani emphasized the importance of providing the necessary financial compensation in order to help these healthcare providers maintain and improve the quality of their services.    

Mr. Mohamad Mubarak Al Noimi, HMC's Chief of Staff and Chief of the Managing Director's Office, chaired a plenary session entitled: “The Future of Patient Safety and Risk Management: Ensuring Sustainability of Healthcare Services.” The session addressed the latest international approaches within the field of risk management in healthcare facilities.

HMC’s delegation received H.E. Dr. Ahmed Emad Al Din Rady, Egyptian Minister of Health, and H.E. Mr. Ghassan Hasbani, the Lebanese Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Health, at a medical exhibition held on the forum sidelines. Mr. Ali Abdulla Al Khater, Chief Communications Officer at HMC and Mr. Mohamad Mubarak Al Noimi, HMC's Chief of Staff and Chief of the Managing Director's Office, awarded HMC plaques to the two ministers, who, in turn, expressed their appreciation for HMC’s role in the promotion of health and clinical excellence in the region and thanked the delegation for their constructive participation in the forum.

Mr. Ibrahim Al Sada, Counselor at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Egypt, and Mr. Badr Ishaq Al Ishaq, First Secretary of the Qatari Embassy in Egypt, also visited the Corporation's stand at the exhibition and listened to a brief by the delegation on HMC’s participation in the event.
