GITEX Technology week yesterday hosted a series of high-level discussions on blockchain and the impact of the technology across business ecosystems. Dubai’s commitment to implementing a city-wide blockchain strategy augurs well for the future of FinTech.

Speaking on the benefits of blockchain was ConsenSys, the world’s largest software development consultancy building decentralized applications (DApps), enterprise solutions and developer tools for blockchain ecosystems, focused primarily on Ethereum software provider for application developers and blockchain companies. In March 2017 ConsenSys was appointed as Dubai’s official Blockchain City Advisor.

“As a partner and advisor to the Government of Dubai, we are truly inspired by the city’s ambition to create the world’s first blockchain-powered government. This technology has significant potential to transform how we transact, not just financially but also between governments and their citizens. As early adopters of blockchain technology, the government of Dubai will be an inspiration to the wider business community in Dubai and the region, ultimately helping businesses achieve economic success through secure, decentralized applications,” Juan Llanos, FinTech and RegTech Lead, ConsenSys.
