Decoration of vehicles for the celebration of National Day will be permitted from November 22 to December 6, Abu Dhabi Police announced on Monday.

It cautioned motorists to avoid spraying foam and colours, carrying more than the specified number of passengers, colouring the front windscreen and putting sun shield.

The police have also defined vehicle decoration rules and urged revellers to obey traffic rules.

These rules include: don’t get out of the car windows and sunroof, carrying passenger in places which are not designated for sitting, incessant shouting, equipping vehicles with hyper sound emitting mechanism or accelerating, putting flag or other things on the car that block the driver’s view.

The police also asked public to avoid parking the car on the road, covering number plates, changing vehicle colour and avoid throwing trash on the road.

Brigadier Khalifa Mohammad Al Khaili, director of traffic, said, “Do not damage public property and avoid causing hurdles to others.” He urged youngster to obey the rules while marking the 46th National Day of the country.

However, the police is well prepared to ensure safety and security of all public during the National Day celebrations, he said.
