Dubai: International law firm Pinsent Masons Projects Partner Catherine Workman has relocated from the UK to the company’s Dubai office.

Catherine has been with the firm for over 15 years and is the Board Sponsor for Pinsent Masons’ Saudi Initiative, and Partner in the firm’s Finance & Projects practice. Her relocation will facilitate the continued development of Pinsent Masons’ growing Saudi operations and association with Saudi law firm AlSabhan & AlAjaji.

Catherine is highly experienced in advising on Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects across the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Specialising in the infrastructure sector, she has acted for Government bodies, consortia, operators and lenders on major infrastructure schemes for a number of projects including airports, ports, hospitals, schools, roads, waste and real estate redevelopment.

Most recently Catherine has been instrumental in developing the firm's relationship with General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia (GACA), speaking at a recent GACA event and advising on the regulations regarding the new bonded logistic zone of the Riyadh airport.

Catherine commented “I am hugely excited to be relocating to the region to maximise the opportunities for clients in the field of PPP and Privatisation with my new team.

I am also looking forward to continuing to perform my Board Sponsor role and developing our relationship with Alsabhan & Alajaji in Saudi, which is a key relationship in a significant market across a number of sectors, and for our global client base particularly in China, Korea, France, Spain and the UK.”

Osama Hassan, Head of the Middle East Region commented "I am delighted to welcome Catherine to our Dubai office. Her move to our Middle East practice reflects our ongoing commitment to continue servicing the growing client demand in these sectors within the region especially in Saudi.  These mark exciting times ahead for our Middle East practice"

This announcement comes at a busy period for Pinsent Masons in the Middle East, with the recent new hire of Faisal Attia, Legal Director and the expansion of the Finance and Projects team with the arrival of Rita Allan, Senior Associate who joined the team earlier this year and Tim Armsby and Gurmeet Kaur who joined in May 2018.

Tim Armsby, Head of Finance and Projects for the Middle East commented "Catherine is a recognised infrastructure expert and has played a significant role in the development of PPP in the UK and emerging markets.  Catherine has worked on a number of PPP transactions in the Middle East and her arrival significantly expands our regional bench strength."

Last month we announced the promotion of Construction disputes lawyer, Nesreen Osman to Partner. Catherine’s relocation and Nesreen's appointment echo the firms' dedication to supporting the UAE's commitment to advancing women in the workplace.
