CAIRO- Egypt's state grains buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), said it had cancelled its international purchase tender for vegetable oils on Tuesday due to higher than estimated prices.

GASC had been seeking at least 30,000 tonnes of soyoil and 10,000 tonnes of sunflower oil for arrival Aug. 20-Sept. 5 and asked traders to present offers for both immediate and deferred payment.

At its last vegetable oils tender on May 6, GASC bought 60,000 tonnes of soyoil for arrival July 10-30.
