The Swiss judicial authorities replied favourably to the supplementary international letter of request issued by the Tunisian authorities, by transferring the amount of 3.5 million Euros to the General Treasury of Tunisia.

In a statement issued Friday, the Ministry of Justice announced that it was informed Wednesday diplomatically of the favourable response of the Swiss authorities in the investigation of the ousted president's son-in-law, Slim Chiboub. An accord which also provides for the return of documents and other bank statements requested.

As part of the follow-up to the case, a meeting was held Friday at the headquarters of the Ministry with the Attorney General for Criminal Affairs at the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation, the statement said.

The meeting was an opportunity to commend this positive step in the process of recovering the assets looted and diverted abroad, the source said. Both sides reiterated commitment to pursue joint action to further promote judicial cooperation between the two countries.
