DAMMAM The Saudi Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle over 14 million pills of Captagon hidden in a consignment at the King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

Muhammad Al-Naeem, the undersecretary for the security affairs at the Saudi Customs, said the consignment was mainly of timbers, while the pills were finely hidden in their layers, however, X-rays examining devices successfully detected the narcotic pills.

Al-Naeem also said that the necessary measures were undertaken after seizing nearly 14.5 million tablets.

The customs official pointed out that smugglers are devising various means to smuggle narcotics into the Kingdom, however, the Saudi Customs is vigilant and is making utmost efforts to uncover and thwart any attempt that might harm the nation and its capabilities.
