Muscat: A group of Omani companies succeeded in manufacturing a number of health equipments that will be used to combat the coronavirus outbreak.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry MOCI said in a statement: “In light of the spread of the coronavirus (Covid 19), the Ministry in cooperation with the General Organisation for Industrial Zones (Madaen), the Oman Technology Fund and a number of small and medium-sized enterprises specialized in 3D printing technologies have succeeded in producing a number of equipment and tools used in the health sector. "

"A coordination was also made with one of the factories for the production of plastic materials in the Sultanate to produce plastic materials for protective clothing meet specifications of the Ministry of Health and to start production locally after they were approved by the of Health and the Directorate General for Specifications and Measurements at MOCI." the ministry explained.

“The Ministry of Commerce and Industry welcomes all initiatives related to industries that can serve the health sector in particular or any other sector in the current circumstances,” the statement added.
