Riyadh: Saudi Investment Company (SICO), the leading developer, owner and operator of shopping malls in Saudi Arabia, The owner of “Quwaieyah Mall” has signed with muvi Cinemas, a homegrown cinema brand, to offer distinctive cinema experience for the first time in Quwaieyah Mall in Al Quwaieyah City.

On this occasion, the Managing director of Saudi Investment Co. Mr. Sultan Fahad Al-Shathri commented: “we are delighted to announce our plan to open a cinema complex in Quwaieyah Mall. This will strengthen our position as the market maker in providing special cinematic experience to our patrons, enhancing their experience at our unique shopping mall”. Taking a bold call in going to type B or C cities, our endeavor is to facilitate modern retailing & entertainment experience and boost engagement with local population for employment / business.

The state of the art 5 screen cinema, accommodating 650 moviegoers, will open in summer 2022. Saudi Investment Co. signed a contract with muvi Cinemas in August 2021, to set up a cinema complex in Quwaieyah Mall to enthrall its valued guests with the magic of cinema through the best-in-class theatrical technologies and seamless digital experience. The CEO of muvi Cinemas Mr. Sultan Fawaz Abdulaziz Al-Hokair commented “at muvi we believe people should experience movies and not just watch them, that's why we brought you the best technology available, coupled with luxury and fun features for the entire family to enjoy”.

muvi Cinemas is the first homegrown cinema brand in Saudi Arabia owned and operated by muvi Cinemas Company. muvi has an aggressive expansion plan over the next few months, as by end of 2021 the company will open an additional 9 screen to have a total of 21 sites in 8 different cities with a total of 209 screens to become the market lead with screen count, sites and seats, offering customers a vast range of unique experiences. 

Al Quwaieyah Governate is among one of the fastest developing regions, with rapidly increasing population. Placed prominently along the highway connecting Taif, Jeddah and holy city Makkah, this governate has currently 23 million square meters of new developments, undertaken by various ministries (approx. 60% are fully developed and balance 40% including a new university expected to be fully ready in coming 3 years). There are nearly 175,000 people residing in Al Quwaieyah City. Another 120,000 more people residing in nearby villages. Government support and promising living condition outlook of the Governate in coming years, significantly helping local society at large.

Currently, the Quwaieyah Mall is serving the needs of the city population, registering increasing trend in footfall month-after-month. The mall has been uniquely developed over a 70,000 sq mts area, having an outdoor parking space for nearly 800 vehicles. Currently, big brands like Panda Supermarket, REDTAG are operating in the mall and Kid’s entertainment Sparky’s is about to start their operation in Nov’21. Many more brands are planning to offer their products and services, in coming months keeping in mind growing needs of Al Quwaieyah City.
