Abu Dhabi – Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, The UAE Innovation Month started at the beginning of the month and will continue until the 28th of the same month; Residents of Abu Dhabi can expect a week jam-packed with activities, competitions and hundreds of key events during the UAE Innovation Month, which kicks off under the slogan “Innovation Starts with You.” All which will take place over 4 weeks, each week allocated to one emirate or more, to allow all members of the community to participate in cooperation with international organizations and is held by all the emirates of the UAE and their unique ideas throughout the entire month.

Set to be held across the seven emirates “UAE Innovation Month” is an effort to promote innovation in society, the nationwide celebration for everyone in the UAE began in Abu Dhabi on Thursday before moving to other emirates every week throughout the month.

“Tadweer” (The Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi) will take part of the Innovation Month in Abu Dhabi from February 1 to 7 at Abu Dhabi Corniche to introduce the visitors to the Innovation Exhibition at the corniche to the innovations of the Center of Waste Management and its effectiveness and economic benefits to the UAE and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The in addition to educating the public on its role as an independent government authority in the field of waste management and its mission in achieving the strategy of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in the field of sustainability and innovation.

In support of the country's innovation drive, “Tadweer” took part with nine innovative initiatives ranging from tools, devices and products with advanced technology and solutions that have resulted in better decisions and more sustainable practices.

Among the innovative projects highlighted by the center in its booth at Abu Dhabi Corniche was implementing RFID chips in waste bins, to obtain the waste weigh of each bin and its location, which will help develop a waste information database; also, Solar Compaction Bins: Using clean energy (Solar energy) as a tool for compacting the waste in those bins for extra capacity. Also in Adittion to these containers there’s the dog – shaped shaped waste bins, which are located in public sidewalks (eg corniches), specifically for pets and dogs, to ensure safe disposal of their waste. Also the animal-shaped

Bins, which are located in public parks and aims to attract children and encourage them to practice the correct mothods of waste disposal.

Also the products made from recycled tires waste which are used in sustainable solutions such as the manufacturing safety flooring for children which is locally made by the center. 

There is also the Paint-based treatment for pests which Abu Dhabi is the 1st in the MENA to deploy this technique and it is a new and innovative technique used to control public health pests using chemical effect of paint to control pests infestation alongside the usage of  Aquatain in Mosquito Control which is a safe Non Chemical control tool, made from Silicone, used in controlling  mosquito larva in any stagnant water and is helpful in controlling mosquito infestation.

Moreover, Tadweer displayed in its booth the usage of Multi-functions machine (3 in 1) which is a new and advanced technology utilized to control public health pests, by combining 3 techniques in 1 machine, to specifically control crawling and flying insects.

And finally using Mosquito Magnet Trap which is a new technology used to survey adult mosquitos to identify the type of mosquito and locations they reproduce in to better control their infestation efficiently.
