FrieslandCampina gave back to the communities it’s been part of the fabric of for decades by donating more than 16,000 iftar meals throughout Ramadan.

FrieslandCampina, one of the largest dairy cooperatives in the world, known for household brands as Rainbow Milk and Omela Milk donated 10,000 and 6,700 Iftar boxes across the UAE and Oman respectively, with the meals going to labourers and those in need.

“The Holy Month of Ramadan is an important and spiritual time of year across the region, and as an important dairy company in the Middle East, we saw it as our duty to give a little more back to the communities we’ve served for years,” commented Sumeet Mathur, Managing Director, FrieslandCampina Middle East.

“Through the admirable efforts of our employees and our valued partners, we’ve delivered thousands of quality iftar meals to help our communities enjoy an authentic celebration. We’re tremendously grateful to our partners and volunteers for helping us uphold the values of empathy and unity that come into sharper focus during the Holy Month.”

In the UAE, Rainbow Milk – the nation’s family favourite for more than 60 years – ran its 10,000 meals initiative. The brand provided iftar meal boxes to labour camps across the UAE with the backing of its local partner, Choithrams and Sons.

In Oman, Omela Milk – the sultanate’s favourite tea milk – partnered with Al Reef LLC and KMCC (ISC – Malabar Wing) to distribute iftar meals to residents of 21 towns across Muscat, Nizwa, Sohar, and Salalah. Channelling the month’s spirit of generosity, the meal boxes were distributed by volunteers and staff members from Al Reef and KMCC at labour camps, in low income towns, and at souks, prominent roundabouts, and traffic signals.
