Egyptian developer Akam Developments expects to start construction of its 40-acre mixed-use project in the new capital at the end of 2020 after receiving ministerial approvals, the company's sales director said.

Mohamed Amer said Yasser Al Beltagy Architects (YBA) is the consultant for the project, which was first reported by Zawya Projects in October 2019. He said the company has started enabling works for its second mixed-use project in the new capital.

Amer said the company aims to start construction of its commercial mall Ainava, located within its Scenario residential compound in the new capital, in early 2021. The mall, which includes retail and commercial units, would have a built-up area of 16,000 square metres.
