Dubai, United Arab Emirates: With an unrivalled 54 exhibitions, trade shows and international conferences taking centre stage before the end of 2019, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has kicked off yet another exciting conference and exhibition season this month. Alongside returning events, DWTC will introduce 14 new regional and international congresses and exhibitions. The diverse line-up of MICE events taking place at the venue further reaffirms the organization’s crucial role in promoting Dubai as the region's leading business and MICE hub.

The new additions to DWTC’s calendar of events this year include: the World Congress of Neurology, the 22nd IAA Human in Space Symposium, Young Professionals in Space, and the Amway Leadership Seminar APAC, among others, spanning across a variety of industry sectors such as food, hospitality and catering; medical and science; information technology, business and finance; transportation, energy and environment.

This week will commence with the Middle East Design and Hospitality Week, which will feature a combination of seven individual events including: INDEX, Workspace, The Leisure Show, The Hotel Show, Surface Design Middle East, FIM, and INDEX Home, all set to take place from 17 – 19 September.  

Additionally, the longest-running consumer electronics show, GITEX Shopper 2019, is back from 24 – 28 September, offering an enhanced platform for shoppers and gadget enthusiasts to benefit from unbeatable tech bargains and latest innovations.

Coinciding with GITEX Shopper is the 17th edition of Cityscape Global, which is the most influential real estate investment and development event for emerging markets globally, and is set to be held from 25 – 27 September.


GITEX Technology Week and GITEX Future Stars, the region’s premier technology and start-up events, gets underway from 6 – 10 October. GITEX continues to define innovation, and is set to feature solutions that will reshape the world while bridging the gap between technology and humankind.

DEWA’s The World Green Economy Summit (WGES), held from 20 – 21 October, will bring together experts from around the world with the aim of advancing the global green economy and sustainability agenda while showcasing ground-breaking solutions and practices that inspire and drives sustainable growth.

The 24th World Congress of Neurology organised by the Emirates Neurology Society (EMINS) in collaboration with the World Federation of Neurology, is set to take place from 27 – 31 October, and will bring leading scientists, public health experts, policymakers together with the aim of deploying recent momentous scientific advances in the field of neurology.

The region’s biggest food and beverage processing and packaging industry event, Gulfood Manufacturing, will be returning once again from 29 – 31 October, and will feature the practical and proven solutions in the food processing industry aimed at enhancing production capabilities.

Coinciding with Gulfood Manufacturing is the all-new Private Label and Licensing Middle East (PRIME), which will be the MENA region’s exclusive platform for food and non-food FMCG product mix expansion and brand placement, connecting private label suppliers and contract manufacturers from across the globe with clients from the Arab world. PRIME, alongside Yummex and Seafex, bring the world’s widest range of food products all under one roof, in addition to hosting high-calibre chefs, top retailers, food-service buyers, importers, exporters, procurers and distributors from the airline, hospitality and hypermarket/retail industries.

Taking centre stage in 2019 will be two space-focussed congresses hosted by Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre. Aligned with the UAE’s efforts to encourage youth in the field of space science and technology, an anticipated 2,500 delegates will be welcomed at the 4th Young Professionals in Space Conference (YPS) which is set to be held from 4 – 6 October.

This will be followed by the 22nd International Academy of Astronautics Human in Space Symposium which will be held from 11 – 14 November. A first in the Middle East region, this event is aimed at promoting the UAE as a hub for space science and research.

DWTC will also host a total of 17 exhibitions in November, including the Dubai International Motor Show, the exhilarating automotive show taking place from 12 – 16 November. For more than 26 years, the Dubai International Motor Show has brought together global manufacturers, distributors, industry specialists, key-buyers and an army of passionate motoring enthusiasts to enjoy exclusive car launches, interactive demonstrations and exciting features.

The Big Five, the largest building and construction show in the MENA region, is also set to take place from 25 – 28 November, and will continue to serve as the global meeting place for the construction community, bringing together more than 2,600 exhibitors from 137 participating countries, while attracting in excess of 65,000 professional visitors.

To close out the year, the second edition of the Dubai Association Conference will take place from 9 – 10 December. Organised by the Dubai Association Centre, an entity that supports and licences regional and international associations in setting up offices or chapters in Dubai, the Conference will bring together association executives, government representatives, industry leaders, as well as university faculties and students, in a bid to strengthen the community of associations in the region.

Also in December 2019, the first-ever Asia Pacific Leadership Seminar for Amway – the largest direct selling company in the world – will bring together achievers and leaders from the organization’s 11 APAC regional countries to celebrates Amway’s 60th anniversary.
