Muscat: Employers of expats in Oman should complete the steps needed for services that can affect their expat workers by 26 May 2019, the Ministry of Manpower has announced.

The announcement comes as the Ministry has decided to suspend some expat employee services, which will be followed by a new version of the services going live on 2 June, 2019.

According to a statement by the Ministry, "New applications for the transfer of services for expat workers will be suspended on 26 May, 2019. All dues and fines must be payed by employers."

"Services related to registration of new expat employees, renewal of labour cards, adjustment of records of expat employees, transfer services of expat employees, and cancellation of work permits will be suspended by 10 PM on Thursday, 28 May, 2019 until 1 June, 2019," the statement added.
