AMMAN The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) have agreed to cooperate with the aim of enhancing the investment climate in Jordan and boosting the competitiveness of the countrys private sector, according to an EBRD statement.

The EBRD and the JIC affirmed their intention to work together during a ceremony on Sunday attended by EBRD Director for the Eastern and Mediterranean Region Heike Harmgart and Khaled Wazani, Chairman of the JIC, according to the statement. The joint goal is to promote a regular structured consultation process between the authorities and the private sector, the statement said, adding that the EBRD will also provide the tools needed to promote investment opportunities.
