In 2018, the ministry distributed 34,033 plots for various uses in different governorates of the sultanate.

The largest number of plots was distributed in Dakhliyah governorate with a total of 8,441 for various purposes, followed by 5,819 plots in Dhahirah, 5,276 in North Sharqiyah, 3,521 in South Batinah, 2,987 in Muscat, 2,583 in South Sharqiyah, 2,174 in North Batinah, 1,749 in Dhofar, 853 in Al Wusta, 570 in Buraimi and 60 in Musandam governorate.

The ministry is facing a number of challenges such as the high number of applications, especially housing applications, as well as the difficult geographical nature of some wilayats that do not allow the provision of more land and appropriate schemes.
