Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has announced that it has connected One Za’abeel, a mixed-use luxury project developed by Ithraa Dubai, to its district cooling network serving a total of 9,600 refrigeration tons (RT).

Centrally located and adjacent to the Dubai World Trade Centre, One Za’abeel comprises three key components - Towers A and B and ‘The Link’, one of the longest cantilevered structures in the world, which bridges the towers at a height of 100 m.

The project was connected to Empower network under a MoU that was signed in September 2018 by Ithraa Dubai and Empower, to supply ‘One Za’abeel’ with environmentally friendly district cooling services.

Empower said it has completed the connection process for both the towers of the project using advanced technologies; the Tower B was connected in November last year and the connection to the Tower A was completed last month.

The new architectural marvel in Dubai is the latest addition to Empower's district cooling portfolio of extremely diverse clients and it strengthens Empower's global position at the forefront of district cooling providers, and reflects its pursuit towards achieving more goals by expanding the uses of environmentally friendly district cooling.

"Empower's portfolio is very rich with world-unique architectural icons that benefit from our services. We have used modern technologies to provide this prestigious project with environmentally friendly district cooling services, and this reflects the continued success of our strategy to support the urban developments in the emirate," remarked its CEO Ahmad bin Shafar.

"One Za'abeel is an architectural edifice that highlights the absolute luxury of the hospitality sector with its ideal destinations for the thriving Dubai community and visitors looking for a unique experience," he noted.

A masterpiece of modern design and luxury, One Za'abeel along with its icon, The Link, covers a total area of 470,700 sq m and is set to redefine the mixed-use concept in the region by providing the finest in retail, residential and office space and claiming the world’s first urban vertical resort under the One&Only brand.

The development One Za’abeel will boast 263 high-end residential units, three floors of high-end retail and leisure experiences at The Gallery, 497 ultra-luxury hotel rooms and serviced apartments, and premium Grade A offices.

"This magnificent project is not only a valuable addition to the Dubai’s world-class skyline, but also a landmark and an affirmation of the emirate's commitment to raising the boundaries and engineering capabilities to the maximum possible extent," remarked Bin Shafar.

"One Za'abeel is a qualitative project whose goals meet Empower's sustainability targets, in line with the UAE Vision 2021 and the Sustainable Development Goals," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
