As far as energy conservation by using the renewable energy is concerned, the UAE Ministry of Infrastructure Development has built many governmental buildings that produce energy. These buildings’ roofs generate power by deploying special slabs to transfer the solar power into electrical forms. The solar system is applied in many projects within the ministry’s building and other few projects.

In the past few years, Dubai has experienced a dramatic transformation bringing the highest quality of life together with the lowest environmental footprint. Dubai has been ranked as the most sustainable city in the Middle East region, according to a study by Arcadis, a global design and consultancy firm for natural and built assets. The city was ranked first out of the eight Middle East cities covered in the Sustainable Cities Index report and 52nd overall globally.
