The Interior Ministry has completed the vaccination of all inmates who wanted to get inoculated against Covid-19.

The General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation co-ordinated the campaign with the Directorate of Health Affairs.

The vaccination was carried out according to a specific schedule to meet human rights values and standards.

As part of measures to tackle the pandemic, the directorate introduced some e-services, such as video calls, e-court hearings, e-documentation and online medical consultation to avoid direct contact with inmates.

A field hospital was allocated and quarantine implemented for new inmates, in addition to redistributing inmates and providing new buildings.

Disinfection operations were carried out in co-ordination with the Civil Defence.Inmates are provided with medical requirements and undergo random Covid-19 tests. They are also provided with masks, gloves and sanitisers.
