The minister said in an interview with Oman TV: “According to the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to provide jobs for Omanis, the Ministry of Labour announced in January 2021 that 32,000 jobs would be provided to job seekers. So during the past three months we were able to provide 9,800 to 10,000 new jobs for Omani job seekers.”

He explained: “These jobs were distributed among 4,000 job opportunities in the government sector that were previously announced and tests were conducted and around 4,000 jobs that job seekers got for the first time besides 2,000 other jobs. We achieved 10,000 jobs out of 32,000 job opportunities that we announced in advance during the beginning of the year which must be completed by the end of the current year 2021.”

“With this number, we will have achieved in the first quarter of 2021 a rate of 30 per cent of the 32,000 job opportunities that were previously announced.”

“We exceeded the required indicators we were supposed to achieve during the first quarter of 2021 which was set at 25 per cent of the total of 32,000 job opportunities. We thank God that we were able to achieve it,” he added.
