DUBAI: Doctors in Saudi Arabia reattached a worker’s right hand after it was severed in a freak accident while he was working, Saudi news site Sabq reported.

The doctors, who initially feared amputation was the only treatment, successfully attached the limb after a six-hour long operation at the King Fahad University Hospital in Khobar.

“The medical team carried out the operation at dawn on Friday to reattach the fully damaged limb,” Mohammad Shahrani, the director of the hospital, told Sabq.

“The surgery was successful because the hospital has the most advanced and professional capabilities and enjoys unlimited support and attention,” he added.
