KUWAIT CITY: The e-Crimes Department of the affiliated to the Ministry of Interior has retrieved the accounts of citizens and expatriates, most of them women, said to have been hacked by a person by sending them Ramadan prayers to the contacts stored on the victims’ phones, reports Al-Rai daily.

The attacks were on the WhatsApp application and the victims were shocked when they received a message which read ‘Your number is used by another person’. A security source said professionals managed to retrieve the accounts and discovered the accounts were hacked by a person from North Africa, believed to be a Moroccan.

The source said the Electronic Crimes Department has said it will receive complaints on 25660142 in case of hacking.
