Iraq is looking to open existing and new road, sea and air transportation links with Saudi Arabia, an Iraqi transport ministry official said.

Faleh Hadi, director of media Department and government communication said the Ministry of Transport has formed a committee to speed up the opening of the Arar land border crossing between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

He said Transport Minister Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli and the Saudi ambassador to Iraq, Abdul Aziz bin Khalid Al-Shamroukhi also discussed the possibility of opening maritime transport between the two countries and air services to Dammam Airport from Iraq.
