Muscat: The preventive measures that tailor shops have to follow have been announced by Muscat Municipality.
A statement issued online by Muscat Municipality said : "Preventive measures needed in male and female tailor shops or factories:
1- Conduct daily temperature checks and wellness screenings of workers for any signs of illness.
2- Keep individuals with body temperature greater than 37 degrees Celsius offsite.
3- Work with the minimum number of workers and don't relocate employees from one location to another.
4- Ensure proper ventilation in the shop.
5- Provide hand sanitiser stations or alcohol based hand rubs containing at least 70% alcohol.
6- Maintain appropriate social distancing measures (2 metres).
7- Make sure all employees wash and sterilise their hands frequently.
8- Require workers to use personal protective equipment.
9- Prohibit entry of unmasked customers and avoid taking body measurements manually, use ready-to-use measurements.
10- Keep details and contact information of customers like: ID, Phone number and place of residence to help competent authorities do a quick follow-up.
11- Deny entry for individuals who exhibit signs of sickness.
12- Do not serve food to customers.
13- Ban the entry of people aged 60 years and above and children less than 12 years.
14- Allow only one customer and keep two metres distance between workers and customer if there is enough space at the shop.
15- Open the doors as much as possible.
16- Close customer waiting areas.
17- Do not carry out tailoring in places other than the shop.
18- Keep out newspapers and magazines.
19- Disinfect carry bags with a spray in front of the customers and before handing it over.
