Gyms, swimming pools and outdoor sport fields will open today in a further easing of restrictions enforced following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Royal Life Saving Bahrain’s (RLSB) recommendations for safe reopening of pools complements official directives of the Health Ministry, which the GDN reported last week.

Violating the Health Ministry’s legal requirements on safe reopening of swimming pools will result in the closure of the facility, said RLSB safety executive Sam Rahman.

“We strongly recommend that you don’t reopen pools – until you are certain all requirements have been implemented,” he told the GDN.

“Carefully consider how the requirements can be implemented at the facility by completing a risk assessment, and making necessary changes to how you operate,” he said.

“It is also important that all employees are fully aware of these changes, and this may require conducting training sessions with the team.”

The recommendations include a “welcome back to the pool” poster which could be printed and displayed at the swimming facility and sent out to members. The poster can be downloaded at https://we.tl/t-POgAXC7fUa.

A health declaration form for all visitors, swimming lesson recommendations and Health Ministry guidelines are also part of the suggestions.

More details will be available on info@rlsbahrain.org and on RLSB’s social media pages.
