Saudi authorities have taken notice of a child marriage.

Waleed Al Samaani, the Saudi Minister of Justice, has submitted a marriage contract of a 10-year-old girl to the Saudi Ministry of Labour and Social Development, and to review it in light of the children protection laws.

According to Okaz, the move comes before the contract gets approved by the concerned court.

The minister urged the labour ministry to review the child protection system rules, which states that the marriage of any person younger than 18 years old will not be negatively harmed - physically or mentally.

He also asked the ministry to question the official who officiated over the 10-year-old girl's marriage.
