Muscat: The development projects and the needs of the people in the various wilayats of Musandam Governorate have been reviewed on Thursday by Ministers, the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technology (MTCIT) said.
In a statement issued online, MTCIT said Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Minister of Economy, and Minister of the State and Governor of Musandam made field visits.
”The ministers held several meetings in the wilayats of the Governorate of Musandam, in the presence of the honored members of the State Council, their Excellencies, members of the Shura Council, representatives of the governorate states, walies, members of the Municipal Council, Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Musandam, the sheikhs, Al Rushada and a number of businessmen in the governorate,” the statement said.
“The Ministers toured a number of development projects and facilities in Musandam Governorate, including Khasab Port, where the general development plan for the port was viewed, which includes building a tourist berth, building three floating berths, building a commercial berth to receive commercial ships, and extending the current seaport.”
“The port’s development plan also includes allocating an area for establishing open and closed warehouses and warehouses to serve commercial activities and any uses that serve tourism investment,”the statement added
“Their Excellencies, heard from the specialists in the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, ( TRA ), about telecommunications services, broadband and efforts to deliver services to the various regions of Musandam Governorate, and the possibility of using various technologies to deliver Internet service to remote villages, including satellite communications,”the statement added.
