The project is aimed at transporting potable water from the Arafat Tanks near Makkah to the cities of Taif, Al Baha, and nearby villages in western Saudi Arabia.

With the completion of the drilling work, K&A said it has completed the first major milestone of this critical project, which is being implemented in four packages.

The Package A is for the supply of pipes, Package B for the pipe laying, Package C for the construction of pumping stations and Package D for the construction of a 12.5 km tunnel.
