UAE long-haul operator Emirates Airline announced on Thursday that it has secured a new codeshare deal with airBaltic that will strengthen its network in the Baltic Sea region and offer better connectivity for travellers to and from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Finland.

“The new partnership will enable our passengers to reach new destinations in Asia, Australia and beyond,” said Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic.

As for Emirates, the deal will enable the airline to offer its customers “more travel choices and connectivity” in the Baltic region. “It will also open up Emirates’ network of global destinations to more travellers from the Baltics,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer.

Emirates has codeshare agreements with at least 22 airlines and two rail companies, as well as interline agreement with more than 115 airlines and rail operators.

The airline has been restarting its services in various destinations since Dubai reopened its borders to tourists last year. So far, the carrier has restored passenger services to more than 120 destinations via its hub in Dubai.
