ArabFinance: State-owned Banque du Caire signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in coordination with the Federation of Egyptian Banks, according to a February 9th emailed press release.
This comes as part of the initiative supporting sports activities for the citizens, in which the National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, and the Commercial International Bank are also taking part.
The initiative aims at sponsoring training centers across Cairo, Fayoum, Port Said, as well as South Sinai, Luxor, and Aswan.
The banks will also sponsor cultural and entertainment trips for the youth by using the Egyptian rails.
Approximately 15,000 of the youth will benefit from this program, according to the press statement.
Last year, the Egyptian government said it would establish a sports city in Al Salam City in East Port Said.
