Muscat – Audi Oman, represented by Wattayah Motors, welcomed clients and visitors to a display of the recently launched and all-new Audi Q8, A7, and A8 models hosted at Al Mouj, from October 25 to 27. Guests at the event were impressed by the stylish designs, innovative technology, and drive assist systems that Audi has introduced in these models, each of which embodies the Vorsprung durch Technik (advancement through technology) Audi promise.

Commenting on the showcase of Audi models at Al Mouj Muscat, David Ryan, the GM of Audi Oman said, “We at Wattayah Motors are always keen to directly interact with our customers at various key locations across the country. This is why we chose Al Mouj, Muscat to display these Audi flagship models, as it is one of the most important tourist destinations in the capital amongst both Omanis and expatriates. This venue allows us to reach the widest possible segment of our customer base, enabling them to see these stunning models up close and get a better understanding of their features and capabilities. Over the course of the event, our sales representatives were on hand to introduce the models and their features as well as to arrange test drives at the nearest Audi showroom.”

The Audi Q8 exudes sporty dynamics and upscale prestige like no other SUV from the brand with the four rings. At 4.99 meters long, 2.00 meters wide, and 1.71 meters tall, the SUV coupe is shorter, wider, and lower than its Q7 sister model. With a wheelbase of nearly 3.00 meters, it offers a spacious interior that beats all of its direct competitors in most relevant dimensions, including interior length and headroom. There are even three independent seats in the rear, each with individual longitudinal adjustment. With the seats folded, the luggage compartment under the power rear hatch holds up to 1,755 litres.

Introduced in the Middle East market with a strikingly stylish design, first-class chassis solutions, a touch operating concept, and the electrification of all drive units, the fourth generation of the Audi A8 provides the ultimate reference for Vorsprung durch Technik. The 3.0-litre turbocharged direct injection gasoline V6 engine produces 340hp and develops 500Nm of torque. It propels the A8 with its standard-fit quattro drive from zero to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds and onto an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h. Its NEDC fuel consumption is just 7.7 to 8.0 litres per 100 kilometres.

The Audi A7 four-door coupe also sets standards in the luxury class when it comes to progressiveness. It embodies a new style of Gran Turismo, with dynamic lines, systematic digitalisation, a sporty driving experience, and versatile space. The 3.0 TFSI model, has a turbocharged V6 engine with an output of 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It accelerates the four-door coupé from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 250km/h. This responsive engine meets the aspirations of sports enthusiasts without sacrificing luxury and practicality.

The new Audi A7 Sportback’s drive system is now even more efficient thanks to a new mild-hybrid system (MHEV). The MHEV 3.0 TFSI system is based on a 48-volt primary electrical system and a belt alternator starter (BAS) generating up to 12 kilowatts of recuperation power. The 3.0 TFSI is mated to a seven-speed S tronic gearbox. In combination with the S tronic, the quattro drivetrain uses the efficient ultra technology that activates rear-wheel drive as needed.

“Audi has introduced these class-leading models, each embodying the Audi brand promise of Vorsprung durch Technik, with a new approach to design and advanced technologies; some of which have been introduced for the very first time in a production vehicle. Our display event offered customers an opportunity to experience each of these technologies, getting a better understanding of how they worked,” added Ryan.
