Dubai, United Arab Emirates: INJAZ UAE, a youth empowerment organization that provides skills trainings for youth in the UAE, hosted three virtual sessions to introduce students in the UAE to cloud computing technology, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS conducted the virtual sessions to more than 100 Grade 12 students from Dubai National School (Barsha), Al-Ittihad Private School (Mamzar) and the Westminster School.

During the sessions, AWS mentors introduced cloud computing and the ways that the technology is fueling innovation across various industries. The sessions also included an introduction to machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) services from AWS and the ways that these technologies are now easily available for anyone to utilize. Students were also encouraged to continue exploring the broad range of free online resources provided by AWS and to consider a career in technology.

Mrs. Razan Bashiti, Chief Executive Officer of INJAZ UAE, said: “We thank AWS for the highly informative sessions that kept the students engaged. As digitalization transforms the world we live in, it is imperative that our youth get an early understanding of how these technologies work and their impact. The AWS mentors were truly inspiring and left the youth encouraged to have an innovation mindset and to think about future careers in cloud computing. We look forward to organizing more sessions with AWS in the future.”

Ms. Amnah Yahia, participating student from the Al Ittihad Private School, said: “The training organized by INJAZ UAE and AWS was extremely helpful and interesting. What grabbed my attention the most is that we can all play a part in creating things related to technology using the cloud. As careers change with new emerging technology, building skills in areas like cloud computing will prepare me to succeed in a world that will be driven by innovation.”

Through similar programs and sessions across the UAE, INJAZ continues to empower the youth by providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to make smart academic and economic choices.  INJAZ UAE has trained over 60,000 students in the UAE since inception in 2005 and in partnership with educators and volunteers from the business community.
