H.H Sheik Theyab bin Mohamed, Chairman of the Department of Transport, Executive Council Member of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, stressed that the intelligent transport sector has become a pivotal part of the economy of the future, an important pillar of sustainable development and a central element in achieving its objectives.

He pointed out that smart technology will have a significant positive impact on the future of transport in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in line with the vision of wise leadership and its plans to promote comprehensive economic development and ensure its sustainability and the use of advanced technology in the service of man and to achieve his welfare and security and safety and maintain a clean environment.

The event was inaugurated at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi Hotel on Saadiyat Island, in the presence of a number of dignitaries, senior officials, and representatives of global and regional governments, experts in intelligent transportation, telecommunications, energy, environment, research and legislation.

The conference is being organized by the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) in cooperation with the Department of Transport- Abu Dhabi, with the participation of a global elite of experts in the manufacture of smart vehicles and modern technologies.

About 450 experts and professionals representing more than 175 government and private institutions from around 18 countries around the world, On 7 and 8 November.

HE Abdullah Al Maeeni, Director General of ESMA, announced that the GCC countries' adoption of the UAE project for electric vehicles, which will be circulated at the level of the six countries. Accordingly, GCC bodies will issue a certificate of conformity to the electric vehicles accordingly.

The conference and exhibition discussed the challenges and opportunities in this promising sector. Artificial intelligence in the automotive industry and sustainable transport infrastructure will be the latest developments in the fourth edition of the conference, under the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Future Mobility."
