The Dubai Municipality will have a soft opening of Dubai Safari Park on Tuesday, the civic body announced on Sunday.

Khaled Al Suwaidi, director of Leisure Facilities Department, said in a press release that the working hours of Safari will be from 9am to 5pm.

The Municipality is also holding a sneak peek of the most awaited wildlife project for the media at 10am on Tuesday. It is not clear when the official grand opening of the project will be held.

Dubai Safari Park, which depends on solar power for its energy needs, is one of the outstanding eco-friendly projects implemented by the Municipality.

It will be a landmark tourist destination in the emirate sprawling over 119 hectares in Al Warqaa-5. The project aims to create the best habitat for the wildlife in the world.

Al Suwaidi had earlier told Gulf News that around 2500 to 3000 animals and many entertainment programmes and games will be part of the phase one of the Dh1b project.

Dubai Safari’s ticket rates will range from Dh20 to Dh30 for children and Dh50 to Dh85 for adults while children below three, adults above 60 and people of determination will enjoy the visit to the wildlife sanctuary project for free, he had said.

As a service organization that strives to meet the needs of the society in accordance with the objectives and visions and in line with the government's strategy, Dubai Municipality said it has executed Dubai Safari project according to the highest international standards adopted in this field.

"The Municipality has been keen to achieve excellence in the implementation of this project as it has accomplished high environmental value by converting a building waste dump to a tourist attraction and a diverse fun environment by exploiting the different terrain on the site and considering it as a key element in the design of the project," the press release stated.
