The security of millions of people living in the UAE is a fundamental aspect for the government, which is why no crime will ever go unnoticed, ignored or taken lightly, a senior official with the Ministry of Interior told Khaleej Times.

On the sidelines of the International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR) conference, Major-General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Chairman of ISNR Abu Dhabi Higher Organising Committee, said the UAE holds a high reputation because of its commitment to ensuring that all Emiratis and expats from various nationalities, cultures and religions, live in peace.

"Security is the most important aspect in life. If you don't have security you cannot have a good economy, you cannot have a good life, you cannot coexist together, as we are living in the UAE.

"Security is the number one target for the UAE government and this is why we are trying to present the best and latest technologies available in the world, so we can protect our country, our neighbours and the region," he added.

Major-General Al Raisi pointed out that in the UAE, no crime goes unnoticed.

"If a cellphone is stolen for example, we do not ignore it or look at it as a small crime.

"The challenges faced by the UAE are similar to the challenges other countries face, especially since we are in a region with many security threats. But that is why the tolerance and principles set by our country has reduced these major challenges.

ISNR to hostmore than 25,000 experts on security

Major-General Al Raisi said the ISNR, under the patronage of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, vice-chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, from March 6-8, will gather thousands of security experts from across the world, under one roof.

With the ever-changing global security threat, the ISNR will provide governments and policy-makers with access to the latest technologies and trends. The exh-ibition's most crucial concerns this year will be artificial intelligence in future security, counter-terrorism, border control, digital forensics and future policing.

Major-General Al Raisi said the event will host more than 600 exhibitors and a whopping 25,000 experts and visitors from 55 countries.

"ISNR will provide a wide range of products and services specialised in the field of security, including cyber crime, future policing and ways to prepare for emergencies in crowded events."

Brigadier Waleed Al Shamsi, general director of the Police College, said the ISNR will help raise awareness about current challenges the world faces, while allowing governments to raise the level of protection in their own countries.

"One of the most important necessities in life is security, and the absence of security creates tragedies, as we see today."
