Muscat: Ahmed bin Ali Al Bulushi has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of the Oman National Transport Company SAOC (ONTC) from May 3, 2015.

"Our goal is to recruit competent and talented young Omanis on major positions in the sector," said Salim bin Mohammed Al Naimai, chairman of ONTC. 

ONTC is a government-owned company founded in 1972 and is a permanent member of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP). It is also the leading public transport company in the Sultanate of Oman. 

Currently, the company is going through a rapid growth process to support the government's vision of enhancing the public transport network in the Sultanate.

Ahmed Al Bulushi holds a master's degree in Management and Information Technology from Australia and Higher Diploma in Accounting. He has over 17 years of experience in various fields.

He worked with major governmental bodies, held various positions in senior management.

He is also on the board and a committee member for some corporates and has led different projects and investments in various sectors.
