Oman Information Technology Society  participated at COMEX exhibition 2018 for the third consecutive year in order to promote and introduce its new initiatives and applications.

OIST’s participation included introduction of startupseeders application that was launched in the beginning of last February. Startupseeders is a voluntary initiative aims at supporting youth in implementing their innovative ideas and projects, and linking innovators and investors or businessmen to facilitate business partnership. The society also showcased some successful experiences of people with disabilities in using and dealing with IT.

The society aims to attract ICT professionals and establish cooperation between them for spreading information knowledge among the Sultanate’s different institutions to support and integrate local projects. Other goals for the Society includes providing consultancy services on IT, and focuses on designing systems and re-engineering of procedures. It also conducts a number of research on the development of areas including: Internet of Things, open data, big data, and smart cities. In addition, it provides training services including specialized IT lectures and workshops. The society also offers courses on AlMeezan system service that attracts legal consultation firms, and legal departments in private sector.
