Muscat, Oman:—The third edition of Oman Downstream Exhibition & Conference (ODEC), organized by Omanexpo and World Refining Association (WRA), is set from April 15 to 17 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The biennial international event, which is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Oil & Gas, which is spearheaded and co-hosted by the largest government-owned entities in the Middle East’s refining and petrochemical sector, Duqm Refinery, the recently merged Oman Oil Company and Orpic Group, is now a fundamental platform for the industry to foster discussions on the downstream business potential as well as challenges and opportunities both posed by the sector.

The exhibition will feature more than 100 companies that include top names as Orpic, Oman Oil Company, Duqm Refinery, KBC, Grace, BASF, Contract Resources, BD Energy Systems and WorleyParsons, who will showcase the latest and the best of their products, services and technology to over 2,000 qualified trade visitors.  

The conference, which will focus on in-country value, investment opportunities, digitalization, case studies, among others, will be kicked off by a full-day workshop featuring topics such as “The Outlook for Refining and Petrochemicals in 2019-2025”; “The Key Challenges to the Global Chemicals Industry”; and Development and Support for a Regional Polymer Processing Industry.” More than 30 esteemed expert speakers will be presenting to an anticipated 200 high-level delegates.

Speaker roles will be taken by the Ministry of Oil & Gas with H.E. Salim Al Aufi, Undersecretary, who will also be initiating the inauguration ceremony with a keynote ministerial address titled “Capitalizing on Oman’s Wealth of Opportunities;” Andrew Carne-Ross, VP-Commercial Onshore, MENA, McDermott; Davide Kalife, CEO, Oman Oil Marketing; Erwin Mortelmans, Commercial Director, Port of Duqm;  Erik Sellman, Senior Product Manager, Oil and
