AMMAN - The trade deficit dropped by 20 per cent to JD4.692 billion at the end of the third quarter of 2020, compared with last year’s JD5.862 billion, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said on Wednesday.
DoS figures showed that the value of total exports, national and reexports, during the July-September period totalled JD4.153 billion, showing a drop by 5.5 per cent, compared with JD4.396 billion in the same period last year.
The DoS report cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, also revealed that imports declined by 0.7 per cent in the first nine months of the year to JD3.699 billion when compared with 2019, according to DoS figures.
