The passion for jazz, blues and world music in the UAE is on the rise thanks primarily to the iconic annual Dubai Jazz Festival, which has showcased mega-selling artists such as Santana, Enrique Iglesais, Toto and John Legend in the past.

A fact that was borne out looking at the large numbers of music lovers who turned out to welcome the return of the Jazz Garden Series at Habtoor Grand Resort, Dubai Marina, on a beautiful Friday evening.

Organised by Chillout Productions, the event is the first of a seven-episode Season 1 that will act as a build up to the highly-anticipated 2018 Dubai Jazz Festival. The whole series is a free admission event, with online registration.

Friday’s opening episode featured a host of rousing performances led by Liverpool-born British veteran Albie Donnelly and his powerhouse band Supercharge.

Also joining the legendary band was the American award-winning indie music artist Catie Waters who thrilled the crowd with her infectious brand of R&B, soul, jazz and funk, which she infuses with a modern touch in a salute to Amy Winehouse, India Arie and mega-selling Adele,

Kicking off the Jazz Garden Series was the Dubai-based band — Lady J & The Royal Vagabonds, who set the mood for an unforgettable evening.

“After an extremely well-received pilot episode earlier this year, Jazz Garden fans once again proved their unmatched loyalty to the event. With this, we bring you the first season of the series where you can expect the highest calibre shows and an ultimate experience not to be missed,” said Anthony Younes, Founder and CEO of Chillout Productions.
