DUBAI, United Arab Emirates: – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) will demonstrate latest technologies to support critical sectors of the economy, including healthcare, retail, logistics and warehousing, in the COVID-19 era, at GITEX 2020.The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from December 6-10.

“Since the start of this year, the technological transformation across sectors has been profound. Now more than ever, technology-led productivity and operational improvements are vital. At a crucial time like this, GITEX is the right platform for us to demonstrate best practices and share knowledge with industry stakeholders,” said Miroslav Kafedzhiev, vice president and general manager for Honeywell Safety and Productivity Solutions, High-Growth Regions, Intelligent Life Care, Global Tracking and Search & Rescue. “Our theme for GITEX this year is ‘Enable Now’, and we look forward to demonstrating how we are shaping the future of our customers’ operations, by equipping healthcare providers, distribution center operations, e-commerce as well as digital companies with advanced solutions in a timely manner.”

Following the closure of malls and stores as a response to the virus earlier this year, a large segment of the consumer population has been shopping online. The shopping habits of consumers in UAE and Saudi Arabia have significantly changed[1], driving retailer demand for technologies to meet growing consumer expectations around delivery options, shorter delivery timelines and lower shipping costs.

The healthcare industry has been under immense pressure given the significant rise in patients. Hospitals face substantial challenges with bed availability, and maintaining and expanding the capacity of their facilities to treat patients with COVID-19. In addition to this, there is a growing requirement for critical high quality personal protective equipment (PPE) to help protect frontline healthcare workers.

In response to these rapidly-evolving trends across retail, logistics and healthcare, Honeywell will showcase a portfolio of cutting-edge technology at GITEX 2020, which includes:

  • Healthcare solutions: Honeywell will demonstrate a safe patient journey, and talk about how to ensure a fast, ultra-safe, trackable and traceable trip to the hospital.
  • Logistics and warehousing solutions: Honeywell’s solutions combine machine-level sensors, smart controllers and devices, to deliver vital information on a facility’s performance in real-time. At the event, Honeywell will showcase how entities can complete more transactions with the same number of people, same size of warehouse distribution centers, same number of retail outlets using voice enabled digital technologies. In addition, they will highlight solutions that enable delivery companies to successfully cover the ‘last mile’.
  • Retail solutions: From the storefront to the backroom, Honeywell’s in-store retail solutions bring together people, assets and merchandise in powerful new ways. With innovative tools and data insights built on the expertise of leading software developers and retail workflow specialists, retailers can connect associates with each other, with shoppers and with enterprise systems that drive shelf replenishment, task management and reverse logistics.

GITEX Attendees can experience Honeywell’s offerings at Hall 5 Stand B1.
