Kuwait: Hassan’s Optician Company announced today that the company eyes an innovative approach to its corporate social responsibility as part of its 70th anniversary, which was kicked off in the holy month of Ramadan by collaborating with the Kuwait Association for Needy Families (KANF) to support economically disadvantaged families in Kuwait.

“As we are marking our 7th decade in the market, it is essential to reiterate Hassan’s Optician’s commitment towards Kuwait and the community. We managed to grow from a simple store to a network of thirty optical stores throughout Kuwait and set the basis for a fully integrated eye care facility. Our growth story mirrors the efforts and commitment of Kuwait towards developing the private sector. It is therefore our responsibility to continue giving back by contributing to Kuwait’s development efforts,” stated Mr. Kian Saadat, CEO of Hassan’s Optician.

In an official statement, Mr. Saadat stressed on the importance of aligning the company’s social responsibility to Kuwait’s national development plan by partnering with civil societies and charity organizations to support Kuwait’s humanitarian projects. He added that Hassan’s Ramadan initiative came as part of its dedicated efforts towards the most vulnerable in Kuwait.

Praising the work of the KNAF and Kuwait’s civil societies who have contributed to Kuwait’s global humanitarian position, Mr. Saadat stated that it is necessary for all national entities to collaborate and collectively work together towards achieving the country’s development agenda. He explained that this initiative is an initial step towards a comprehensive CSR vision bringing Hassan’s Optician's experience in innovation and business growth to projects contributing to Kuwait’s development.

Chairman of the KNAF, Mr. Badr Hamad Al Mubarak, confirmed that the association distributed more than 300 food baskets to the most vulnerable families in Kuwait in partnership with Hassan’s Optician Company. Al-Mubarak explained that the initiative comes within the framework of the Naqsa project that the association adopts to support the families with sufficient foodstuffs adequate for a period of one month.

He added that the association’s collaboration with Hassan’s Optician comes as part of its joint efforts with the private sector and the rest of the national institutions that are collectively working together to meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable in Kuwait.

Established in 1951, Hassan’s Optician was founded by Dr. Hassan Saadat Yazdi who was the first optometrist officially approved by the Kuwaiti Department of Health in 1960. In 2016,Hassan’s Optician launched its own state-of-the-art factory in Amghara, Kuwait to produce ZEISS German Ophthalmic lenses. The company is now considered as one of the market leaders in the optical industry in the Middle East and a partner to global leaders in the field of eye-care and optics, as well as jewelry and hearing aids with a network of more than thirty optical stores all around Kuwait.
