MANAMA: A new initiative launched by the national carrier in partnership with Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) enables GCC-based travellers to book hotel and flight packages for travel to Bahrain.

“In phase one, holidays.gulfair.com is targeted at travellers from Gulf Air destinations in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and Oman, and lets them book a flight and a hotel in the kingdom through one transaction,” the airline’s acting chief executive Captain Waleed AlAlawi told a Press conference at the Four Seasons Bahrain Bay yesterday.

“Among many features of the website are chat support, dedicated 24/7 contact centre and call support for any amendments or cancellations. We are also offering competitive rates to our loyal customers, which is why we believe they will enjoy this new addition to our products and services,” he added.

The carrier’s transition to airline retailing is aimed at helping achieve the goals of the new national tourism strategy of increasing the number of tourists to 14.1 million in 2026, increasing the average daily visitor spending to BD74.8, and raising the average tourist nights to 3.5 days.

Also, speaking during the event was BTEA CEO Dr Nasser Qaedi, who said, “The aim of launching these offers is to attract more tourists and visitors to Bahrain, and to offer them a variety of tourism and entertainment activities that they can choose from to suit their tastes, needs and budget.

“We are pleased to co-operate with Gulf Air in order introduce new and unique offerings that will take advantage of all the events and activities taking place in Bahrain this year to achieve this goal, and to implement this exciting initiative that will further add value to the tourism sector.”
